what reforms should India's Primary Health Care Needs quickly ?

The reality: The country spending  close to Rs 21,000 crore annually for NRHM.  primary  healthcare can solve 90% of the medical problems. primary care is very effective at delivering effective individual interventions at routine consultations to prevent heart disease, stroke, and cancer. About 70%-80% (around 84 crore) of the population spend out-of-pocket on healthcare. health care spending is just  5% of GDP. Out of this  the government  spending just 1.2% of the GDP on healthcare. there are 1.8 million child deaths and 68 000 maternal deaths in India each year and 52 million undernourished children.   Only 9  hospital beds per 10,000 people which  is far from adequate. insurance will pay for hospitalization, but not for outpatient treatment, which can affect cancer patients and it can affect follow-up care. “India still buys or imports most medical devices, and we still pay in dollars. Chronic diseases (such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and mental ill health) are

India in Doldrums -part2

If any person expends Rs.1000/- per month for consumption of food and goods ( food, clothing, footwear, durables, education and health. ),he is not poor-as per one survey report- Tendulkar committee report).A s per the above formula, our country has 25 crore poor people , other wise,5 crore poor families. But, Why does UPA want to feed 67% through food security bill, if only 22% of India is poor? welfare schemes with out corruption,is what india needs! Estimated expenditure of our government for the year 2013-14 as per the Union Budget - Rs.16 lac crores. O f this, 5lac crores goes to welfare schemes with sizable pilferage. Did you know that there are actually just 3.5 crore income tax payers in India?  There are just 42,800 persons , who admitted as a taxable income exceeding Rs 1 crore per year." ( మన à°¦ేà°¶ం à°²ో à°•ోà°Ÿి à°°ూà°ªాయల à°µాà°°్à°·ిà°• à°†à°¦ాà°¯ం ఉన్à°¨ à°µాà°°ు à°•ేవలం 43000 à°®ంà°¦ి !) మన à°¦ేà°¶ాà°¨ిà°•ి ఉన్à°¨ à°¸ంపద à°®ానవ వనరుà°²ు . à°•ాà°¨ీ, à°…à°¤్à°¯ంà°¤ à°Žà°•్à°•ుà°µ à°®ంà°¦ిà°•ి à°šà°¦ుà°µు ,à°¨ైà°ªుà°£్à°¯ం à°²ేà°µు . à°µీà°°ిà°•ి సరి పడే ఉత్à°ªాదక

India in Doldrums ---Friends, think cautiously. The coming 6 months is crucial for all indians...

Friends, do you observe what is happening since 3years? The Rupee has lost around 16% in 2013, and 44% in the last 3 years. Petrol &diesel price has  increased by more than Rs 25. So maintaining a car has already become a huge burden.  Prices of milk, vegetables and other essential commodities too going skywards. Overseas education took Rs 30 lakhs earlier, the same will cost you Rs 45 lakhs now with the fall of the rupee.  A dinner for two that cost Rs 500 a couple of years back now costs Rs 1,500. Even watching a movie in a theatre has gotten extremely expensive.  millions of qualified workers roaming on the streets without jobs due to  the falling growth . many Business firms are now struggling to just cover their interest payments.  NPA s of banks accumulated to 1lac crores. salaries stagnate while the expenses keep going up continuously.  As per the Eleventh Five-year plan, around 1.5 crore new people join the workforce in India every year. And the most shocking th

What a country?

1.Casteism :   atrocities on weaker castes -Dalits. 2. Atrocities on weaker sex-  women -R ap e  as one of  India 's most common  crimes against women    and it is  a “national problem". Unequality and non-empowerment of weaklings , weather caste wise or gender wise,is rampant in this developing country and making our society which has been standing on dharmic foundations, crippled.its jungle raaj. 3.open defecation: With over 60 crore  people in India or 53 per cent of Indian households defecating in the open, absence of toilet or latrine is one of the important contributors to malnutrition, a  World Bank  report has said. Effects of Early-Life Exposure to Sanitation on Childhood Cognitive Skills'. poor sanitation and lack of access to toilets impact public health, education, and the environment. 4.Female foeticide & infanticide: 5. unemployment & under-employment  : Rate of unemployment for Indians is at 20 % compared to an average 10% globally.

Science News-november-2013

Mangalyaan : Why india expends about Rs.500 cr. for space  journey towards MARS ,amidst woeful deficiency of basic and fundamental infrastructure in the country? India is a country full of paradoxes. Indians burns crackers of  Rs.5000 crores on a single divali night. So,why not Mars journey? the indirect benefit of the space research is enormous.gauging under ground water levels, predicting cataclysmic tsunaamees,etc... 3D printing 'will change the world' From replacement of kidneys to guns, cars, prosthetics and works of art, 3D printing is predicted to transform our lives in the coming decades as dramatically as the Internet did before it.

Defining moments for INDIAN medical profession...

Brief details:  WBMC and the National Consumer forum, both were dismissed the original complaints made by Dr.  Kunal   Saha .(fighting since 15years for compensation of his wife's death due to  toxic dermal necrolysis) Then he went to SC and won (not once but twice, both times against the NC). Who are the accused in this case?                AMRI hospital and 3 doctors. what is meant by pecuniary damages?        95% of the compensation was based only on "economic damages" other wise called as "pecuniary damages" and it was due to the loss of income for demised patient. Is the"Cap" was imposed on compensation for medical negligence, in any country? Absolutely no "cap" anywhere in  developed countries on  "economic"/pecuniary damages. But, in some states of USA, Cap has been implemented on the "non-economic" damages for pain, suffering etc. Break ups of the compensation In  Kunal   Saha  Case as pe

Over 3 lakh babies die on their first-day and overall,9 lakh babies die, annually in INDIA....

India has plenty of intelligence. india has abundant man-power. still,in india IMR is at  44 per 1000 live births (as per the government's 2011 Sample Registration System ). you know, IMR  determines the socio-economic status of a state/country  .MMR is still unacceptably high.   We record the highest number of maternal deaths in the world -  56,000 maternal deaths, every year. so,what is the reason?  In india, strategic interventions are missing or inadequately implemented.   Where we have to be focussed?  the mantra should be "basic and inexpensive care has to reach  the common man door steps". affordable technology can perhaps increase India’s mothers’ and babies’ chances of survival. improving access to affordable medicines and timely life-saving interventions.  Expanded neonatal and intrapartum care,  management of diarrhoea and pneumonia, and  addition of new vaccines to immunisation programmes . so,we have to provide in all 25000 PHCs country wide, i

The Time has come, Mankind has to turn towards sea for the food -----  Kelp, a type of seaweed, has a number of benefits: it’s rich in nutrients, low in fat and one of the fastest-growing plants in the world.  One study  form the Netherlands estimates that only one percent of the Earth’s ocean surface would be needed to grow the amount of seaweed equal to the amount of all food we grow on land. You can print your own meals.  literally, building meals from pre-stored ingredients. that is 3-D printing of food. Plumpy’Nut comes in. Salaam MOH !

2020: Across the country,400 odd medical colleges are in search of students to fill the seats. No donations. only nominal fees.its because, universities across the country doling out B.Sc -community health course and make lacks of those graduates to release in to the rural and slum urban health sector. corporate hospitals hire those graduates cheaply at 5000/- month. MBBS graduates  wandering  on the roads waiting for jobs. MCI is on the verge of closing due to lack of monitoring authority on corporate health sector and closure of medical institutes. individual medical practitioners slowly fading out leaving the ground to AYUSH and B.S c health practitioners. few lucky super specialists spreading their tentacles of multi specialty 5 star hospitals  with super empanelment facilities. indian health authorities grinning with mischievious smiles and boasting their intelligence, how they eradicated the noble species of doctors and put bare foot doctors at the door steps of common man.

Cabinet approves B.Sc. Community Health course in State universities

Even though the    Parliamentary Standing Committee   recommended options like mandatory rural posting after an MBBS internship, increasing the number of nursing graduates and postgraduates who could be posted at the health sub-centre level, as well as sending AYUSH professionals to health sub-centres,the UPA govt decided to go ahead with B.Sc community health course from 2013-14. IMA STRONGLY OPPOSED THIS COURSE. MCI vehemently denied to notify the course. parliamentary standing committee rejected the course. still, the tuglaquian UPA govt proceeds undemocratically with this retrograde step, with an ulterior motive of by-passing the main stream medical graduates from the primary care. if the govt  is sincere to provide basic health care at the door steps of aam aadmi, it can use the services of lacs of unemployed nurses and thousands of unemployed  MBBS graduates &AYUSH professionals.  Even with 50% of the budgetary allocation that is earmarked for B.Sc course, the

How is India's health?

Make india power-full....

Indian gross domestic product grew more than 3.3 times from 2002 to 2012, second only to China’s. India’s demand for energy has risen by more than 70 percent. oil and gas as an energy source now represents more than 45 percent of the country’s total energy consumption. So,  country agreed to allow 100 percent foreign direct investment (FDI) in the upstream sector.   India’s total hydrocarbon reserves are estimated to be around 2 BMTOE  . With the current oil production level of around 815,000 barrels per day, on estimated reserves of 1.2 BMT (Billion Metric Tonne), the reserves-to-production ratio is 25 years. current production level of natural gas is around 40 BCM (billion cubic meters) per year on an estimated reserves base of around 1,500 BCM, translating to a reserves-to-production ratio of more than 30 years.

Plz Don't Eat Fast & processed foods...

All processed foods, hard margarine, deep fried, processed snacks ,commercially baked products, fast-foods,commercial soups, soya sauce and Chinese food contain harmful transfats and MSG- monosodium glutamate, which can harm in more ways than expected.... serious and sustained physical problems such as asthma, acute headaches, and life-threatening heart irregularities and  psychological problems  have been traced to MSG consumption:  People who react severely to MSG experience almost continual distressing and health-endangering physical and psychological symptoms. Long term consumption may also be a partial cause for developing hypertension.

A true yogi is one who does not give up action but makes action divine by turning it into worship and meditation.

What is meditation? is it active process or passive? is it happens with our efforts or it happens spontaneously? Before answer these questions, we should know, what the mankind is craving for? Happiness/Ananda. when will you get this state of mind? ,as we know happiness is the state of mind. When the mind is calm. when will be mind is calm?  when our body, breath and mind are in harmony. A state of mind that happens spontaneously.: when some chemicals are secreted with low glucose signals in the blood, hunger will happens. when another type of biochemicals secreted with the signal that the body and mind are tired, sleep happens. Like that Meditation happens..... when? when we surrender our self at the mighty nature/god, or  when we conduct our duties as a god's instrument (feeling that we are not doing; Work happens through us; it flows through us. we are not thinking about the result of our work.).  we need not sit idly and contemplate  either on mantra, vision, sutra, sacr

Various techniques of Dhyaana... to reach the stage of Meditation...

Some of the following methods are different only in initial process but their aim to reach meditative status is equal. what ever method we adopt, the basic under lying principle is to make our mind more & more receptive. Receptive to conscious and subconscious with out attachment. 1. Mindfulness , VIPASANA ( L etting your mind run, and accepting whatever thoughts come up, while practicing detachment from each thought), 2. Transcendental Meditation-TM.-   (using mantra japa and focussing on breath), 3.  Kundalini  -  using breath to move energy upward. ( concentrates on the breath flowing through each of the chakras   of the body, always moving upward, toward the energy center just above the top of the head).   4. Guided visualization  -Relaxation technique.--- concentration upon an image or imaginary environment.   5.  Trance-based practices . hypnotic methods- --  awareness of the self and the environment is limited, conscious control of the experience is absent, rational th
