We record the highest number of maternal deaths in the world - 56,000 maternal deaths, every year.

- improving access to affordable medicines and timely life-saving interventions.
- Expanded neonatal and intrapartum care,
- management of diarrhoea and pneumonia, and
- addition of new vaccines to immunisation programmes .
so,we have to provide in all 25000 PHCs country wide, infant warmers, phototherapy units and incubators and fetal monitoring devices. With such installations, nearly 309,000 babies can be saved annually.
