The Dr. N. Apparao Family Security Scheme (FSS), initiated by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Andhra Pradesh State Branch, is a unique welfare program designed to provide financial protection to the families of IMA members. Named in honor of Dr. N. Apparao, the visionary behind this initiative, this scheme ensures peace of mind for doctors and their loved ones. The present strength  is 3410 . if we promote and enroll 2000 new doctors  in coming days, the scheme will become more robust and financially capable to provide much more service to the members. 

The IMA is pleased to announce enhanced efforts to boost participation in the Welfare Scheme, a program designed to offer significant long-term benefits to our members.

Why Choose the Dr. N. Apparao Family Security Scheme?

• Financial Security: In the unfortunate event of a member’s demise, the scheme provides a substantial payout to nominees, with benefits BETWEEN ₹15 -20 Lakhs based on ACTIVE membership strength .
• Fraternity-Based Support: Built on the principle of mutual aid, members contribute a small Bi-annual fraternity fee to support the families of deceased members, fostering a sense of community and brotherhood.
• Transparent Management: Managed by the IMA AP State Branch with a focus on transparency, all contributions are directed to nominees or a corpus fund for the scheme’s financial stability.
• Flexible Membership: Open to IMA life members below the age of 56 years. Members can opt out if unable to continue contributions, similar to term insurance or car insurance policies.
• Capping of payment of bills: the member has to pay only 60 bills. Previously it was life time . A key feature making this scheme particularly attractive is that members are not required to contribute for lifelong periods, providing security without the commitment of indefinite financial contributions.

• Additional Benefits: Provides financial assistance to members who become permanently disabled and unable to practice, ensuring support during challenging times.
• Health insurance coverage for 2lacs for members.
• Accidental insurance coverage for 25-50lacs.for members.
• A one-time lump sum payment option for lifelong coverage.

• Eligibility: Any IMA life member registered with a AP MEDICAL COUNCIL/NMC in India, under 56 years at the time of joining.
• Nominee Benefits: Nominees receive the fraternity contribution within 6months of claim submission, supported by a simple process involving a claim form, death certificate, and policy document.
• Affordable Contributions: Members pay an annual fraternity contribution, with additional fees based on age at entry.
• Nominee Flexibility: Members can change nominees as needed, with a minimal fee for subsequent changes (first change free).
• Corpus Fund: Surplus contributions are securely deposited in a reserve fund to ensure the scheme’s long-term sustainability.
• Local IMA branches will be suitably rewarded based on their success in enrolling members into the Welfare Scheme.

2. Complete the Application: Fill out the application form available at www.imafssap.com or through your local IMA branch.
3. Submit Health Declaration: Declare that you are free from serious conditions like malignancy or major heart issues requiring surgery. No need of medicals.
4. Pay Contributions: Pay the admission fee (based on age) and annual fraternity contribution.
