T.B.News-2016:

• Regarding RNTCP project, Unless IMA could double the notifications of T.B. in allotted five states(  Maharashtra, Kerala, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar  ) in the coming three months,the DGHS may not favor further MOU with IMA.
•   IMA has also been asked to submit a revised reduced budget proposal for 5 states  to CTD .

• Launch of the WHO Regional Strategic Plan 2016-2020. Ending TB in South-East Asia.
• Release of TB Publications and Tb India 2016 Annual Report.
• Bedaquiline – New Anti TB Drug for resistant TB launched.
• 500 CBNAAT Machines incorporated in RNTCP Programme: CB-NAAT (Cartridge Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test) machine for testing Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) tuberculosis. Earlier, samples of suspected cases were sent to HIGHER CENTERS  due to which the report used to take at least a month's time but now cases can be detected in two hours.
• Third line Anti Retroviral Therapy.
