All you should know about USMLE Steps

what is residency ? Residency is what we call post graduate training in India or simply PG. In Order to practice in US one should need  to get  state license  which requires at least 2-3 yrs of "Accredited American Graduate medical education"(RESIDENCY). and if u r Board Certified it adds to authenticity and value ...! Basically to practice in US one need  NOT !  be  BOARD CERTIFIED. " If a doctor is "licensed to practice medicine" does that mean he/she is certified? No. Obtaining a medical license and being certified as a medical specialist by an ABMS Member Board are two different and separate processes. A license, legally required in order to treat patients, is issued and required by the state or territory in which a doctor practices medicine. A specialty certificate is issued by a medical specialty certifying board, which is valid nationwide. Although certification is not required for an individual physician to practice medicine, most hospital...

Sun   sustains the life on earth. it not only gives energy to plants but it protects our body from morbidity. How?  Is our skin also behaves like photosynthetic leafs? Yes ! because our skin contains nitrates and nitrites which when exposed to sun light converted in to nitric oxide which is denominated as magic molecule of life.it also dubbed as Molecule of the Year” by   Science   magazine in 1992, followed by the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine for its discovery as a signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system. Not only is nitric oxide important in regulating blood pressure, it also functions as a signaling molecule in your brain and immune system We need Sun light ?..... Why & how???   Ultraviolet-B (UV-B) radiation from sunlight produces our major source of vitaminD .             Improved mood and energy levels through the release of endorphins.           Better melatonin regulatio...

What if a nurse can diagnose cancer and diabetes at your doorstep?

you know, I ndia reports the highest mortalities for cervical cancer in the world at 75,000 annually and an estimated 150,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year, as per ICMR's statement. battery powered portable  oncology kit, a device for visualising the precancerous and cancerous lesions of uterine cervix and oral cavity costs  between 5,000-8,000, can be used in villages anywhere in the world. More so, it does not need a doctor, even a nurse can diagnose . India has 60 million diabetic patients and 70 million more at pre-diabetes stage, as per a statement shared by ICMR.  a low-cost point of care device for the detection of diabetes, comprising a glucometer and strips, will be sold at pharmaceutical stores. The glucometer will be tentatively priced at 1,000-1,200, almost half the cost of those available in the market, while the strips (used to take blood sample) will cost 5, almost a fourth of those on shelves.

Inventions.

Any thing new that makes our life simple, convenient and happy will be adored by all. Best example is smart phone. Time, coordinates of earth, movement, speed, calories burned, distance, compass, pocket note book, video communication, camera, heart rate, tachometer, height measurement, storing enormous information, file sharing-these all are possible with palm held smart phone. Imagine,a  centimeter-long chip of silicon that could  be inserted under your skin to measure the chemical make-up of your blood-then send the results straight to your phone. It can measure the pH and temperature of blood, it can also sense molecules like glucose, lactate and cholesterol, as well as the presence of some drugs.  It contains a circuit with six sensors, a control unit that analyses sensed signals, and a Bluetooth transmitter. It also contains an induction loop, which allows it to be powered by a battery pack held in place outside the body-meaning it can operate for long perio...
