(As amended by the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Acts, 1964, 1993 & 2001)

this act came in  1956 to reconstitute MCI (which was established even before this act commencement) and maintenance of indian medical register.

An Act to regulate the grant of titles of qualifications in modern medicine.
it proclaims,who shall  have the authority or Right to confer degrees in modern medicine..
it Prohibits  unauthorized conferment of degrees .
