Small hospitals, clinics may find difficult to survive in India in future:

Why its difficult for Clinics and small hospitals with upto 20 beds those  managed by individual doctors and their immediate family members will have to be closed down in India in the future ? 1. the proportion of rural population has started to decrease now and that phenomenon will continue in future. As a result there will be less captive population to depend on small hospitals in rural areas and in small towns.  2. Medical insurance/mediclaim will become more common and the insurance companies will prefer to deal with big hospitals.   3.  small hospital owners will become unable to find enough doctors to work with them as they cannot afford high salaries required by the doctors.  4. Majority of the doctors would prefer to go abroad, or work in India on high salaries which can be provided by corporate institutions.  5.  that the big and small divide will get widened because of  CE ACT , which has already been notified. This will affect the owners of small nursing ho

SKELETAL MUSCLE IS AN ENDOCRINE ORGAN...

Hippocrates observed that “walking is man's best medicine” and thus underscored the benefits of physical activity to health. More than two millennia later, the benefits of physical activity in lowering the risk of death from any cause and improving longevity have been well documented. Scientists are also beginning to understand the benefits of exercise on a molecular level and to consider skeletal muscle as an endocrine organ, capable of communicating with other tissues through myokines, which are released into the circulation during physical activity. Adipose tissue communicates with skeletal muscle not only through free fatty acids but also through secretion of various products called adipokines. Adipokines came out as governors of insulin sensitivity and are deregulated in obesity. In addition to well known leptin, adiponectin, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, newer adipokines like retinol-binding protein 4 have been associated with insulin resistance.  Th
