The State Councils are expected to draw up a list of accredited bodies which may apply for accreditation to provide CME programs. 1.       No CMEs may be considered for accreditation if organised by pharmaceutical companies, equipment manufacturers, private institutions, for promotional purposes or self advertisement. 2.       The BOG, MCI will specify that CME requirements which are mentioned in the code of ethics as being recommended will now be specified as being mandatory. 3.       The BOG clarified that whilst the MCI Act permits a registered practitioner to practice anywhere in India , this refers to suitability and eligibility.
