 Glucosamine-intake-for-one-year-reduces-all-cause-mortality-by-39-percent

Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine:--study-Glucosamine supplements may reduce the risk of cardiovascular-related death--and death overall--according to a new epidemiological study from WVU. The study, led by School of Medicine researcher Dana King, found that taking glucosamine/chondroitin supplements daily was associated with a 65 percent reduction in cardiovascular-related mortality and a 39 percent reduction in deaths overall.


Bombay HC Restrains State From Acting Against 28 Private Hospitals On COVID Rates

Outraged at "arbitrary fixation" of Covid-19 treatment rates, 28 private hospitals have been extended protection as the Bombay High Court has restrained the State government from taking coercive action against the facilities in the context of charges for Coronavirus treatment. hospital owners  who submitted that the government should not exercise complete financial control over private facilities.

The petitioners approached the high court after the state government took several steps to fix treatment rates in various private hospitals and also decided punishments regarding overcharging in the facilities. They stated that they have been distressed by the 'arbitrary fixation' of treatment rates. 

 the state government fixed treatment rates even for private facilities, thus, exercising financial control over them. However, this is not acceptable as neither did the state or the central government provided any kind of financial aid to the facilities nor did they provided them with free or subsidized land.

The revised fee structure would be applicable to 17 private medical colleges and 14 dental colleges in the state.

Previously, during the older structure rupee 12155 was charged for category A students, and rupees 13.36 lakhs for Catagory B and 66 lakhs for Category C students were decided respectively. 

now, or category A students, the fee has been fixed at rupees 15000 per annum while rupees 12 lakhs for category B is decided and Rupees 36 lakhs for Catagory C.

the BDS fee has been reduced to 4 lakh per year from the earlier 5.46 lakh under management quota, while it has been fixed at 13,000 a year for convenor quota seats. The students claiming BDS seats under NRI quota have to pay up to 12 lakh per annum
