A drug license would be required to open a medical store in India. The drug license is being controlled by the Central drugs standard control organization and state drug standard control organization in India.


The requirement for Obtaining a Drug License
The following are the minimum requirement for Obtaining the Drug License or Pharmacy store in India:
· There should be 10 Square meter area is required to start a medical store. In the case of retail or wholesale, 15 Square meters is required.
· A refrigerator and air conditioner are required on the premises.
· Technical staff would be required to run this business.
Documents required:
1. An Application Form
2. Affidavit of registered pharmacist or person working full time
3. Appointment letter if registered pharmacist person
4. Incorporation Certificate / MOA / AOA / partnership deed
5. Proof of ownership
6. Blueprint of the premises
7. Key plan for the premises
8. Declaration form in the format prescribed
9. Challan of fee deposited for obtaining Drug License
10. Covering letter with the intent of the application signed with name and designation of the applicant
Process of Obtaining Drug license:
As the License is classified based on the type of Business entity, the application should be prepared and the applicant shall be registered.
The applicant will be getting a unique registration number for the application which can be used for further processing. After submission of application, all the required documents along with the application shall be submitted to the office of the Drug Licensing authority of a respected district within 15 Days.
