- IMA national protest-black ribbon day on 27th.april.It was decided in the CWC to organize massive National Protest Day on 27 th April 2017 and it was declared by the National president and hony secretary general IMA. All state ledears in the country opposed the the draconian West Bengal CEA Bill and also decided to approach High Court and Supreme Court against this Bill.
- All local and state IMA branch executives should sensitise the media and the political l parties and social organizations about the vagaries of the medical fraternity and should convey our anguish and strong protest against impractical and draconian regulations mooted by various state govts and the central govt.
- All IMA members are directed to not charge any health care service fees except for consumables and disposables from colleague members .
- IMA strongly advised all its members to strictly follow the ethics regulations of the MCI.
- IMA demands: capping on CPA penalties, amendments to CE act,demanding national medical protection act and prohibit crosspathy &quackery!
- The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a country wide campaign "Puchna Mat Bhulo" as a part of which it will urge doctors to request relatives or legal heirs, in case of routine death, for donation of eyes and organs (in case of brain death). As a part of the initiative, IMA members will be sent text alerts reminding them to ask families to donate organs of their deceased loved ones to promote organ donation in the country.
- The Indian Medical Association (IMA) headquarters is gearing up to initiate legal action against the contentious West Bengal Clinical Establishment Act that seeks to address cases ofmedical negligence. At its central committee meeting in Kolkata on Saturday, the IMA top brass asked its legal cell to explore the possibility of opposing the act — which, it feels, is biased against doctors and private health establishments — in a court of law. The legal cell will come up with its opinion on Sunday. "Doctors are scared and the private health sector is under pressure. If this situation prevails, patients will be the eventual sufferers. So, the legal battle is the best option,"
