on 2-5-2016,Supreme court Bench appoints justice Lodha committee,which will be notified with in two weeks,and it has the power to have final say' in all decisions of MCI.
The Apex bench also directs the central govt to constitute a monitoring authority over the MCI within one year.
Taking the recommendations of 1. Experts group headed by dr ranjit ray chowdary (report was given on 25-9-2014) and 2. the report submitted by parliamentary standing committee on health&family welfare(submitted to parliament on 8-3-2016) ,the central govt is also planning to come with appropriate mechanism to oversee the MCI.
Is it the end of autonomous nature of MCI??
