Kerala IMA hosted the 214th.CWC meet @Hotel uday samudra,Trivandrum on 19th.&20th. of  this month under the dynamic and humble leadership of National IMA president Dr.Marthanda pillai and Hony secretary general Dr.K.K.Aggarwal with coordinated co-operation  of Trivandrum IMA branch studded  with cordial hospitality and cultural ethnicity as the azure blue waters&pristine white sand dunes of kovalam beach making perfect backdrop.

The deliberations focusing mainly on burning issues plaguing our medical fraternity and the entire house shared their expertise with some good suggestions.

Recent victories like NCERT issue, judgments against quackery&crosspathy practice and recognition of IMA’s commitment by Govt of india in Eradication of T.B. and sensational presence of IMA in all print&electronic meadia and digitasation of IMA’s administration and scientific webinars'  cast a wonderful  heartwarming spell on  one &all.
The entire credit of this metamorphosis goes to Team IMA headed by Dr.A.Marthanda Pillai&Dr.K.K.Aggarwal.

But, still there is plenty of work in the hands of IMA courtesy timid demeanor and retrograde regulations of our govts i.e. both state&central.

we must appreciate the administration of kerala govt especially MOH of kerala for their stunning performance in health care delivery especially in public health-
The Infant Mortality Rate( IMR) is 12 compared to the national average of 44 , Maternal Mortality Rate( MMR) is 61 as against the national average of 176. The average life expectancy of our women is 76.4 in comparison with the national life expectancy of 64.2 . Another stark highlight is our Institutional delivery rate of 99.5 % as against the national average of 40.7%.
1.        E – health programme is, firstof-its-kind e-health initiative in the entire country, envisages a central data server which would have all health and demographic data of the population and which would be linked to the HMIS (Health Management Information System) projects of all health institutions in the State, right down to the level of sub-centres.
2.       Kerala has 7 NABH accredited Government institutions . Electronic recording of health data is a vital part of effective and efficient health care system.
3.       free cancer diagnosis, treatment and medicines in selected Government health institutions.
4.       Free Generic Medicine scheme to all patients irrespective of income levels in all govt hospitals –even  sub centers.

We all agree, that Kerala is not only god’s place but it’s a place for best literacy, best nature and best health care indices.

Take home message is-
“that every doctor in the country under the aegis of IMA in any part of the country must observe national IMA protest Day on 16th.november,Monday-2015,by organizing marches, processions, memorandum submissions to local govt authorities and sensitizing the media and the common man by using various avenues of public relations.

The Six burning issues we have to meditate and mediate with govt-  -
