1.INDIA needs more number of institutions like ICMR,which is showing its excellency in many ways.
The achievements of ICMR in developing various technologies such as the JE vaccine, Thalassemia diagnostic kit, AV Magni-Visualiser screening device for cervical cancer, and the recently launched three different kits for detection of food borne pathogens, diagnosing Iron Deficiency Anaemia, and Vitamin-A Deficiency.
though the country has made significant progress in the last decade by adding about 40 labs with at least one in each state and producing vaccines and reagents,we still need more.
2.According to one study, today over 70 per cent of healthcare technologies are imported and beyond reach of a majority of population. We have to develop a pool of affordable and accessible technologies and solutions that create large impact in health care in India. We also need to take a completely new approach to screening, diagnosis and treatment in order to make healthcare affordable and universally accessible.
3.INDIA needs innumerable paramedics&nurses and health counselors, clinical psychologists.
4.INDIA needs adaptation of electronic/digital technology- ---- lab-on-chips,mobile applications, handheld peripherals to screen and record and transmit the vitals.
5.INDIA needs real time disease tracking -recording of disease pattern, epidemics, surveilence, vaccine adaptation percentage, logistics of essential medicines,etc...Real time monitoring of human resources, programs and projects...
6.the most important and crucial is a paradigm shift in the attitude of indians towards self sufficiency- health and wealth and responsibility towards society at large.
