IMA STRONGLY Opposing the amendment of compulsory one year rural service.

The government has introduced an amendment to the APMPR Bill, making one year service in rural government hospitals mandatory for medical practitioners to get a licence.

The salient feature of the amendment bill is that the State would initially issue them temporary registration certificates . The doctors will then have to work in any of the government hospitals for a period of one year. After that they can apply for permanent registration by producing a certificate that they have completed one year rural service.
The other feature of the amendment bill is that it would keep a check on malpractices committed by practicing doctors, like prescribing wrong treatment and medicines with the aim of making extra money.
The State government on Tuesday (11-6-2013) introduced "Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Bill 2013" in the House.
if this bill get its nod in the ongoing session of the House,Its detrimental to doctors unless they would paid good salary and other service privileges.
Actually there are no vacancies  for MBBS graduates in our state.

  1. Believe it or not, the teaching allowance given to a professor is about Rs 500 to Rs 800. The rest of the salary is for patient care. Except for few departments ( Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology) all other departments are necessary for patient care. While calculating the expenses for medical education I believe all these are added to arrive at figure of so many lakhs for making a doctor. The money spent on a medico will be recovered by extracting his services during his internnship.
Government is spending on all other branches of education, but dictates only the doctors.
