Andhra Pradesh high court gives relief to Andhra Pradesh from NEET- UG :

NO NEET UG MBBS in Andhra Pradesh in 2013:

A  division bench of the high court on Wednesday ( 17-10-12 ) stayed the applicability of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2013.
The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by the principal secretary, medical and health.
The court considered the following points:
1.The rules governing the NEET framed by Medical Council of India cannot override the Article 371(D) of the constitution.
what is article 371/D : Article 371 (D) of the Constitution gave special status to the state and the Presidential order provided for local and non local reservations in admissions to professional courses.
2.The prohibition of capitation fee Act and the rules made therein provide for weightage to the intermediate marks while finalising ranks of the students and the NEET rules do not have such provision and the state Act can not be over ruled like this.
3. that the new syllabus with NEET orientation had come into force only last year and the students who studied the first year intermediate with the state syllabus would be at a disadvantage.
  • In A.P. Weather to adhere with NEET PG or not, WILL BE DECIDED ON 29-10-12 BY HIGH COURT.

there will be NEET PG and COMEDK PGET 2013 in Karnataka

The NEET-PG will be held between November 23 to December 6 and the COMEDK test is on February 3, 2013.

COMEDK executive director A.S. Srikanth said, on 29th October, the final status will be updated. If the stay order is vacated, then this timetable will have to be changed. Otherwise, we can conduct the exam on the scheduled date.Online applications will commence in the first week of December.

is it useful for andhra & kashmir students to be included  in NEET exam?
no,its not useful except  lesser burden of writing  single exam instead of different exams.
Article 371 D exempts students of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir cannot study in institutions across the country. They can only study in colleges within their respective states, unless the constitution is amended. So, the admission situation for A.P students will not change because of NEET. It is a no loss, no gain situation for us.
how many PG seats are available in A.P.?
Although there are about 2,300 Clinical post-graduate seats in the State, there is a huge possibility that this number will almost double in the next five years
What are the future prospects for biotechnology, dental courses ?
biotech  is a great choice for students who have an aptitude for higher education and research.
regarding dentistry, as there is acute shortage for MDS doctors in the State,  There is a huge scope for candidates who have taken dental sciences, but it is essential to pursue the MDS after BDS.
is it advisable to join in foreign medical universities?
In foreign countries, the medicine course is SIX  to seven years as against five and half years here. And the Medical Council of India (MCI) conducts a screening test to get a registration to practice in India. And merely 25 per cent of the students who have studies abroad clear this screening test. Over 75 per cent take at least three years to clear this exam. Hence, preference should be Indian education.
But paying hefty donations in our private colleges is not advisable and economically its not viable option at all.
